She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Glyden Smith and Mary Alice Smith (Harper); her husband Willie E Thompson; her siblings, Larry, Theodore, James, Joseph Smith, Mary JoAnn Murphy (Smith) and Donna Smith (Tina); her aunts and uncles, Caesar (Pearl), Steve Harper (Jewell), Mattie Gilmore (Raymond) and Rosemary Johnson; and her siblings-in-law, Jeanne Smith, Frank Murphy and James Gipson.

She is survived by: her children, Eric Thompson, Jason Thompson (Dewawn) of Saginaw and Beverly Archer of Detroit; her grandchildren, Erica, Delano, Tony, Zeavon, Cha'Nya and Laila; her siblings, Susan Rushdan (Haneef), Julie Gipson of Saginaw and Michael Clifton Smith of Vassar; her siblings-in-law, Ernest Thompson (Sylvia) of Detroit and Lynn Smith of Vassar; and her close friends, Marie Beasley, Linda Trotman, Haneef Rushdan and Tammy Johnson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, many cousins.
