He was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Aloysius and Marion (Perry) Hughes; wife: Linda Louise Couture; daughters: Bernadette (Gary) Quinney and Jean Ann (Mark) Jonas; son: Michael W. (Lorena) Hughes; grandchildren: Brianna (Derek) Dechy, Mitchell (Jeana) Schaefer, Kelly John Schaefer, Ashlee Schulte, Angelika Hughes, Mica Hughes, and Michael "M. J." Hughes; great-grandchildren: Delilah, Lucy, Maggie, Charlie, Jase, MacKenzie, Lucian, Phillip, Alex and Xavier; brothers: Patrick Hughes, Roger (Cindy) Hughes, Dale (Bonnie) Hughes, and Brian (Jeannette) Hughes; sister-in-law: Delores Hughes; other: Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit; and several nieces, nephews, and caregivers at Heartland Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Snow Funeral Home (3775 N Center Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (5376 State St, Saginaw, MI 48603-3739).
