She was predeceased by: her parents, LeRoy Burton and Rev. Maude Burton; her siblings, Mary Lee Short (Joseph) and Errol "Macky" Jackson; and her nephew Lim Hookfin.
She is survived by: her husband Angelo Kenneth Yates; her daughter Shaniya Angenique Yates; her sisters, Sonya Lampkin and Deidra McEachern (Howard); and her siblings' children, Errol Baty (Marissa), Beverly Bankstorm, Shanika Lampkin, Diamond Davis and Teleah McEachern. She is also survived by three great-nieces; seven great-nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Secily was so beloved at her job with Montgomery County that when her sick leave ran out, her co-workers donated portions of their salaries to her to ensure that she never missed a paycheck for nearly a year until her disability retirement kicked in.
