He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Henry and Eileen Erna Helen Gill (Kruse); his stepmother Anna Rose Garber Gill; and his in-laws, David and Evelyn Hoffman.

He is survived by: his wife Robin; his sons, David (Allison Nichol), Adam (Katie), Noah (Kayla) and Jacob (Josie); his grandchildren, Keiran, Alexandra, Nicklas, Ivan and Damien; his sisters, Diane Goodwin (Dale), Karen Justin (Gary) and Linda Alashmaly (Taher); and his siblings-in-law, Gwenn Underwood, Paulette Hoffman, Rebecca Colvin and David Hoffman (Dianne Tiboni).

He had so many t-shirts that, during COVID shutdown, it became a game to not wear the same shirt more than once and he was proud to accomplish this goal.
