She was predeceased by : her parents, William Nichols and Grace Nichols; her son Robert Danneels; her brother Richard "Rick" Nichols; and her former life partner Ronald Danneels.

She is survived by : her children, Debra Valla (Bryan) and Steven Danneels; her grandsons, Ryan Valla and Kyle Valla (Amy); her great grandchild Kinsler Valla; her siblings, William Nichols (Sandy) and Pamela Robbins; and her sister-in-law Joyce Nichols. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
