We announce the death of Marlene Joy (Martinson) Olsen of Saint Ignace, Michigan, who passed away on October 14, 2026, at the age of 90. Marlene will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Martinson and Crystal Martinson; her husband Gary Olsen; her daughter Joy Marolf; her granddaughter Sarah Marolf; her siblings, Judith Martinson, Charlotte Nelson (Paul) and Donald Martinson; her parents-in-law, Harold and Lettie Olsen; and her brothers-in-law, Harold Olsen (Ardith) and Harding Olsen.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark Olsen (Colleen), Brian Olsen (Trudy) and Jon Olsen (Connie); her son-in-law Lin Marolf; her grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Kristen, Mariah, Erik, Madison, Gunnar, Courtney, Lauren and Rebecca; her great grandchildren, Peyton, Olyvia, Cameron, Caleb and Elle; her sisters-in-law, Dorothea Martinson and Mae Olsen; and her close friends, Diane Nelson, Dolly Bunno, Glenn and Bonnie Flinn. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Family Life Funeral Homes (999 S State St, St Ignace, MI 49781).
