She was predeceased by: her parents, George L. Pearce and Mary Pearce (Fritz); her husband Oliver "Chic" Smith; her granddaughter Kimberly Bashore; and her siblings, Howard Pearce, Erma Jones and Mariam Williams.

She is survived by: her daughters, Karren (Joe Ford), Connie Bertrand of Higgins Lake, MI and Kathy (Robert); and her grandchildren, Tom Bashore, Katie Fries, Carlie Bertrand, Charles Bertrand and Chrystie Pugh. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Elsie Public Library or the Elsie United Methodist Church.
