She was predeceased by: her husband James Jakus; her son Trent Jakus; her parents, Charles and Jeanne; her parents-in-law, Antonine and Teresa Jakus; her brother-in-law Steve Jakus; and her pet Katie.
She is survived by: her sons, Ethan Jakus (Wendy) and Aaron Jakus (Jill); her daughter-in-law LeeAnna Jakus; her grandchildren, Kayle (Adam), Cheyenne (Dylan), Kole, Kody and Alexa; and her great grandchildren, Maelyn and Gentry. She is also survived by many cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the McGeehan Funeral Homes - Keck-Coleman Chapel (1500 Waterford Pkwy, St Johns, MI 48879). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with checks payable to Carolyn Jakus or Journey Federal Credit Union.
