He was predeceased by: his parents, Mel Karthen and Eileen Karthen (Degener); and his brother John. He is survived by: his wife Jane Karthen; his daughters, Erin Wyrick (Eric) and Lindsay Tjepkema (Mike); and his grandchildren, Eve, Emily Wyrick, Jack, Max and Harry Tjepkema. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and many extended family members and friends.
