He was predeceased by: his parents, Linus Thelen and Adeline Thelen (Schueller); his wife Dee Rademacher; his in-laws, Denis and Mary Lou Rademacher; his son-in-law Greg Tamas; his brothers, Phil Thelen and Fred Thelen; and his brothers-in-law, Ron Rademacher and Dave Rademacher.
He is survived by: his son Jeff; his grandchildren, Melanie, Logan, Josh Tamas and Nolan Hollingsworth; his siblings, Pete Thelen (Terrie), Paul Thelen (Sarah), Ralph Thelen (Cindy), Dan Thelen, BJ Thelen, Steve Thelen (Michelle) and Marianne Kerr (Dave); his sister-in-law Jewel Bryant; and his in-laws, Rose Schmitz (Darryl), Diane Rademacher, Sandy Steffen (Ernie), Deb Hufnagel (Gary), Larry Rademacher (Carol), Marcia Whitmore (Dan), Leon Rademacher (Nancy), Linda Rademacher (Dan) and Karla Hof (Ben).
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel (1500 Waterford Pkwy, St Johns, MI 48879). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the McGeehan Funeral Home (1500 Waterford Pkwy, St Johns, MI 48879). A burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at the Mount Rest Cemetery (701 E Steel St, St Johns, MI 48879).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School Education Fund or Clinton County 4-H.
