He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McCarty and Lila McCarty (Turbeville); his siblings, Alan McCarty and Cassandra McCarty; his parents-in-law, Leo and Marie Thelen; and his brothers-in-law, Kevin Thelen and John Kowatch.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Thelen; his sons, Brent (Tonya), Sean (Fawn) and Ryan (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Claire, Owen, Aiden, Riley and Aubrey; his aunt Rev. Ruth McCarty; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Lee Kowatch, Colleen Fedewa (Fran), Terry Thelen (Theresa), David Thelen, Brian Thelen (Deb) and Mike Thelen (Carrie).
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McGeehan Funeral Homes - Keck-Coleman Chapel (1500 Waterford Pkwy, St Johns, MI 48879). A vigil service will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (109 Linden St, St Johns, MI 48879). A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Most Holy Trinity Cemetery (2619 N Grange Rd, Fowler, MI 48835).
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Right of Life of Michigan.
