It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Jean Catherine Hodge of Saint Joseph, Michigan, who passed away at the age of 96, on April 19, 2025. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Heumann and Kathleen Heumann; her husband Joe William Hodge; and her brother John Heumann (Mary). She is survived by: her children, Jenny Fry (Mark) of St. Joseph, Jeff Hodge (Karen) of St. Joseph and Julie Coleman (Kevin) of Coloma; her grandchildren, Brianne Van Hekken (Tom), Alina Van Hekken (Andy), Colin Fry (Jessica), Kyle Etter, Greg Etter, Erin Kim (Andrew), Andy Hodge and Emily Hodge (Dylan Kaczmarek); her great grandchildren, Vivian, Miles, Charley, Jack, Ada, Bruce and Lucy; and her sister-in-law Vera Hodge. She is also survived by sixteen nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward the purchase of a Memorial Bench that will be placed on one of the trails at Turkey Run State Park in Indiana, where the family continues to meet annually for a camping weekend every fall; a tradition started by Jean and Joe many years ago. Donation checks can be made out to Jeff Hodge and will be collected at First Church the morning of the service or Starks & Menchinger Chapel after that time.
