He is survived by: his wife Karen Kanine of St. Louis, MI; his children, Vicki (James Monroe), Annette (Matthew Elder III), David, Shada Kanine (Biabani) of St and Tonya (Chris Grupp); his grandchildren, Lindsey, Pong Wara, Zachary, Emily Monroe, Corey, Allie Monroe, Casey, Danny Buegar, Matthew Elder IV (MH), Katelind, Sean Haak, Hannah, David Morch, Melanie Kanine, Evan Goodell, Tara Goodell, Tiffany, AJ Diaz, Christopher II and Tasia Grupp; his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel Wara, Winter Monroe, Maeve, Keeley Monroe, Amaya, Layla, Kaya Buegar, Matthew Elder V, Leo, Elliot, Sophia Haak, Grace, James Morch, Olivia Walters, Inez Diaz, Kallum, Oliver Watson, Darius, Lucian Diaz, Christopher III, Timothy and Skyler Grupp; and his siblings, Robert (Leila Vinson), Joyce Wrisley and Myrna Welch. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Saint Louis Church of Christ (1075 W Monroe Rd, St. Louis, MI 48880). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at the Emerson Township Cemetery (3851 N Bagley Rd, Alma, MI 48801).
