He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Luckhardt and Martha Ernst Luckhardt; and his siblings, Ellsworth, Norman, Lawrence and Florence.

He is survived by: his wife Joann Lindemann; his son Gary (Renee); and his grandchildren, Alyssa and Ryan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eugene's name may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, 122 West Michigan Ave. Saline, MI 48176.

“We heard about Eugene's passing in the Saline Historical Society Newsletter. He was a wonderful person and lived a full life. He was more than a plumber to us, we thought of him as a friend (most likely all his customers did). I remember him eating his lunch in our kitchen along with me and our two young sons. He was kind, honest and hardworking and quite the professional. He could figure anything out when it came to plumbing. Our sincere condolences to his family. Carol & Dave Rundle”
