He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Prater and Mollie Ann Prater (Sparks); his sons, Joseph and Gregory; his granddaughter Jennifer; his stepchildren, DJ Culkar, Jack Culkar and Sherry Culkar; his siblings, Mary Catherine, Eukie, Robert, Harry, Sherman "Dick" Jr. and Derral Ray; and his sister-in-law Margarette Prater.
He is survived by: his wife Barb Lambert; his grandchildren, Greg Jr., Robbie, Joslynn, Summer and Demitri; his stepson Tim Culkar (Jackie); his stepdaughter-in-law Yvette Culkar; his great grandchildren, Joylynn, Caitlin, Michael, Madeline and Alex; his brother Dallas Scott Prater; and his sister-in-law Judy Prater. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
