We bid farewell to John Leonard Phillips of Sandusky, Michigan, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 17, 2025 at the age of 94. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Phillips and Irwin Phillips of Yale, Michigan.; and his siblings, Roberta Moyer (Ed), Jerry Phillips and Shirley Fletcher (Edward).
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Wood; his children, John D. Phillips of Sandusky, Beth Wheat (Bill) of Carsonville and Wallace Humphrey-Phillips (Darcie) of Bad Axe; his sister-in-law Connie Phillips; his grandchildren, David Pritchett (Morgan), Jonathon Loss (Jennifer), Michael Phillips, Jamie Loss, Isabel Dean (Connor) and Wyatt Humphrey-Phillips; and his great grandchildren, Blake, Michael Jr., Brooklyn, Maddison, Hunter, Carson, Kip and Realynn.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Marsh Funeral Chapel (396 S Sandusky Rd, Sandusky, MI 48471). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials in honor of John Phillips may be made to Compassus, Sandusky First United Methodist Church, or the Sandusky Community Foundation/Albrecht Field.
