With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alan David Wirtanen of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 3, 2025 at the age of 59. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Wirtanen and Lela Wirtanen (Lamoreaux); and his brothers, Gilbert Wirtanen and Gary Wirtanen. He is survived by: his wife Deb Wirtanen; his daughter Alyssa Porter (Chase); his grandsons, Hunter Porter and Eddie Porter; and his siblings, Mike Wirtanen, Daniel Wirtanen (Yumiko) and Christine Dean (Buddy). He is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.
