He was predeceased by : his parents, Della Mae McKerchie (Lewis) and James McKerchie; his brother James "Skip" McKerchie; and his brothers-in-law, Harry Vanhouten and Jerry Pelkey.

He is survived by : his siblings, Ronald McKerchie of Apple River, Illinois, Diane Vanhouten of Honor, Linda Duncan (Larry) of Shawboro and Patricia Pelky of Shawboro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
