It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Lee Bumstead (Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan), who passed away on October 13, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Tauno Ruona and Alice Ruona (Puska) of Sugar Island, Michigan.; her husband James "Jim"; her children, Darren Bumstead, Dale Bumstead and Mary Jane Bumstead; her siblings, Keith Ruona and Darlene Ruona; and her pet Kenna.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Bumstead (Marie) of Sault Ste and Linda Wojnarowski (Bob) of Sault Ste; her siblings, Sharon Mustonen (Marie) of Sault Ste and Lloyd Ruona of Penhook, Virginia; her grandchildren, Lacey Gorsuch (Tyler) of Two Rivers, Newell Vierra (Tanya), Dennis Vierra (Leesa) of Sault Ste and Marie; her great grandchildren, Clint Gorsuch, Emmett Gorsuch, Bruce Gorsuch, Dylan Gorsuch, Caylee Anderson (Adam), Lauren Clouse (Jake) and Travis Vierra; and her great great grandchildren, Wyatt Anderson, Blayke Anderson, Lucia Anderson, Dachshund and Zoey. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Oaklawn Chapel (15264 M-129, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at the Soo Township Hall (639 3 1/2 Mile Rd, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783).
