She was predeceased by: her parents, Gustave Brining and Emma Brining; her husband Gilmore Somes; her siblings, Douglas Ensign and Dorothy Weston; and her stepson Ronald Ree Somes.

She is survived by: her siblings, Annette Hilton and Ronald Brining (Joan); her sister-in-law Elizabeth Brining; her children, Daniel Ensign (Debbie), Harry Ensign (Lisa) and Susan Rhodus; her grandchildren, Eric Ensign (Keeley), Jacob Ensign (Jennifer), Tracey Ensign, Sara Bayless (Richard), Ben Ensign, Trey Ensign (Marti) and Jason Ensign (Kasey); her stepchildren, Brenda Welch (Jay), Wanda Marchant (Bob), Rick Somes (Sally) and Debra Harwood (David); and her grandchildren, Wendy Ball (Kevin), Jason Welch (Maryanne), Marci Hatfield (Larry), Joey Marchant, Kristi Semeniuk (Dan), Ree Somes, Rachel Morency (Jeff), Courtney Winberg (Dan) and Kira Mudge (Morgan). She is also survived by her 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation to the Hospice House of EUP or First Church of Christ.
