It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew D. McVey of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, who passed away on October 19, 2025, at the age of 21, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandmothers, Paula Broten and Dixie Letscher; his sister Annabelle Stuart; his cousins, Amy and Elizabeth; and his friend Hope Ember Akers.
He is survived by: his parents, BobbieJo MacArthur and Shawn Payment; his godmothers, Teri Stuart and Sandra Stuart; his grandmothers, Glenda Jackson-MacArthur and Candice Binggeli; and his siblings, Tawny Wiseman, Cheyenne McVey, Solara McVey, Kylie Maclean, Anjeli LaTour, Jade Thompson, Daysha Jackson, Elena Stuart, Ava Stuart, Joey Culp, Brandon Clement, Thomas Jackson, Ethan Thompson and Elijah Stuart. He is also survived by his family, friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Niigaanaagiizhik Ceremonial Building (11 Ice Circle Chi Mukwa, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783).
In Lieu of flowers, Matthew's family asks any memorial contributions to be made to Family Life Funeral Homes for the funeral costs.
