He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Winnick and Sayrell Winnick; his brother Russell Winnick; and his uncles, Ron Flaxman, Harvey Flaxman and Tony Verganalis (Lucille).

He is survived by: his girlfriend Cindy Lewis; his girlfriend's children, Jake Lewis (Vicki) and Shannon Lewis (Bob Atkinson); his grandchildren, Jacob Lewis, Caleb Lewis and Claire Atkinson; his brother Brett Winnick (Monica); his nephew Caymon Winnick; his aunt Sue Flaxman; and his uncle Gary Winnick (Stephanie).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mike's honor to the Chippewa County Animal Shelter, 3660 S. Mackinac Trail, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783..
