He is survived by: his sons, David Carpenter Jr. (Betty) and Michael Carpenter; his grandchildren, Daniel Smelker-Cheeseman (Tricia) and Melissa Holt; his great grandchildren, Autumn, Steven, Summer and Alyssa; his great great grandchildren, Kayden, Audrey and Nola; and his sisters, Jackie Ward and Linda Stampohar.
