Dale F. Smith Obituary
Dale F. Smith age 75 of Scotts passed away Thursday afternoon, September 10, 2026. Dale was born in Massillon, OH on February 17, 1951, the son of Harold G. and Margaret (Clapper) Smith. On December 27, 1974, he married Janice L. Meyers who survives him. Dale graduated from Albion College in 1973, He earned his master's degree from Western Michigan University in 1977. Dale was a teacher at the Climax-Scotts High School for 31 years, retiring in 2004. Dale and Jan enjoyed travelling together. They had visited Hawaii several times. They had also been to Europe. One time they tried taking a cruise and Dale discovered it wasn't his cup of tea. He loved playing poker with his friends. He really enjoyed working on his Christmas tree farm. Besides his wife. Dale is survived by his daughter, Dr. Jennifer (Mickey) Carman of Augusta, grandchildren, Makenna (Tim) Lotter and Kasey Carman; brother, David Smith of Abingdon, VA; nieces, Brenta Harris and Jessica (Alex) Katrompas; great nephews, Alex and Spencer; and countless friends including his feline friend, Sophie. Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
