He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Bauer and Emma Bauer (Wissner); and his wife Alice Loeffler. He is survived by: his children, Mark Bauer, James Bauer (Renee) and Carol Heidt; and his grandchildren, Steven Heidt, Allison Dickson (Jordan), Nicole Bauer and Alexis Bauer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
