He was predeceased by: his father Harvey Martens; his grandson Justin Martens; his mother Mable Braddock (Flynn); his sisters, Donna (Richard Woolum) and Irene (William Hudson); and his sister-in-law Susan Martens.
He is survived by: his wife Genavie "Jenny" Ebel; his children, Kathleen Schafer (John), Peggy Hoppe (Michael), Karen Hines (Brian), Richard Martens (Roseanne), David Martens (Robin) and Eugene Martens (Nicole); his grandchildren, Vicki Smith (Jason), Rebecca Pines (Herb), Carla Alderson (Michael), Nick Linzner, Amanda Boggs (Lou), Jodi Linzner, Danae Hoppe, Zach Hoppe (Amanda), Kristy Liberacki (Chad), Eric Hines (Carrie), Joel Hines (Caitlyn), Nathan Martens (Rachel), Zach Martens, Troy Sasso, Nikki, Zylstra, Jason Martens (Christina), Selah, Levi and Chase Martens; and his brother Robert "Fred" Martens. He is also survived by 36 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Salem Lutheran Church (222 E Grove St, Sebewaing, MI 48759). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Legion Post #421 or New Salem Lutheran Church.
