George E. Hunter Jr. Obituary

George Ernest Hunter, Jr., age 86, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on December 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. George was the ultimate caregiver who had great faith and was fiercely devoted to his family. He had a quiet strength, sharp sense of humor and a generous heart. He is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Katherine (Kit) Hunter, and his children, Kimberly (Ron) Cashwell, Dottie (Brent) Barnes, Susan (David) Lindahl and George (Val) Hunter; and stepdaughters Lisa Rivard and Tracy Lind.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. George is predeceased by his parents, George and Ethel Hunter; wife, Violet Hunter; and sisters Muriel Bunch and Annie Lucas. He was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, raised in Detroit and retired from both A.B. Dick Company and General Motors. Visitation will be at Wasik Funeral Home, 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (north of 22 Mile Rd.) on Thursday, December 16, from noon-2 p.m. with a service immediately following.

Burial will take place at a later date with immediate family.
