“I will never understand why the best among us seem to leave us first in this world. I worked with Melissa on 4-South, a very challenging floor, and knew her to be one of the finest nurses I ever met. Even when she was relatively new on the floor, she worked in the role of charge nurse and did so with grace, diplomacy, competency and compassion. I feel honored to have known and to have worked with this woman. She will be missed by many, and the world is a lesser place now that she has gone on.”
