He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Tony, Rose Gardini, Madelaine and Eric Anderson; and his pet Juggs.

He is survived by: his parents, Jim Gardini and Dee Gardini (Anderson) of Shelby; his children, Jillian Dykstra of Iowa, Mikey Gardini of Shelby, Tommy Gardini of Shelby and Emily Gardini of Tennessee; his siblings, Jimmy Gardini, Jr. (Tara Black) of Shelby and Melissa Vasseur (Jay) of Shelby; and his siblings' children, Jimmy Gardini, III and Jazmine Delbeke of Shelby.

“Mike was the little brother to my best friend Jim. I remember him growing up always wanting to be the bad guy wearing his do-rags at age 12. I kept up with him and remember when he first was in the military and when he retired. What an awesome accomplishment for him! He became an awesome Father along the way and overcame so much! This past April Mike, Jim, and I had a little reunion of sorts and it was fun listening to military stories and sibling fun! I cared about Mike and will miss him!”
