He was predeceased by: his parents, Lilah Thornton and Rolland Thornton; and his siblings, Laureen "Lori" Arnone and James Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Marianne (Reznik); his siblings, Donna Dzieszko and Patrick "Pat" Thornton (Rolland Laethem); his children, Melissa (Jay Gilbert), Michael (Taylor) and Megan; and his grandchildren, Samuel, Chloe, Everett, Max, Ellis, August, Brooks and Navy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and several close friends.

He was able to donate his organs, giving the gift of life and leaving this world better than he found it.
