With sadness, we share the passing of William Schmaltz of Shelby Township, Michigan. William, born on October 5, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on August 16, 2026. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Xavier Schmaltz and Rita Yvonne Schmaltz (Hebert); and his brothers, Richard "Dick" Schmaltz and Dennis Schmaltz. He is survived by: his children, William Schmaltz (Jessica), Elizabeth Crigger (Kevin) and Anastasia Schmaltz; his grandchildren, Lily Anderson (Sean), Benjamin Schmaltz, Faith Crigger, Ana Hess, Mackenzi Kline, Jackson Schmaltz, Haidyn Kline, Mitchel Crigger, Cassandra Starr and Mason McIntyre; and his brothers, Robert Schmaltz (Patricia) and Allen Schmaltz (Karen). He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
