He was predeceased by: his siblings, Frank (late Jane), Clara Hotton (Rene), Elsie Satawa (late Whitty) and Therese Gardner (late Glenn); his sister-in-law Elida Ribaudo (late Lorenzo); and his mother Anna Riss.

He is survived by: his wife Aurora; his children, Juliann O'Brien (Mark), Joseph (Rebecca) and Janet Gury (Charles); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Matthew, Mary, Thomas, Michael, Kristen, Joanna and Brian; his siblings, Marion Frye (late Leo), Rosalie Miller and JoAnn Beltramo (late Daniel); his siblings-in-law, Mary Bringas and Noranda Gelardi (Thomas); and his father Joseph Riss. He is also survived by his best friend for 71 years, Father.
