With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Elmer Olson of Shelby, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 29, 2026 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though James may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Olson and Nora Olson (Calcutt). He is survived by: his children, Jason Olson and Melanie Hoblitzell (Dana); his grandchildren, Gwen Cozzi (Tyler), Bailey Hoblitzell, Ryan Olson and Adam Olson; his great grandchild Ruth Cozzi; and his sister Patricia Smitts.
