Albert S. Schanck Obituary
Albert S. Schanck Shepherd, Michigan Albert Stanley Schanck age 70 of Shepherd, Michigan passed away peacefully on June 4th at home surrounded by loving family. He was born along side twin sister Linda January 16th 1956 in Bay City, Michigan to Eugene Schanck and Helen Rice. Albert grew up in Pinconning, Michigan one mile from Saginaw Bay in which he considered his backyard playground where he honed the skills he was known for. He will be fondly remembered for his lifelong love and knowledge of the outdoors whether in a tree hunting, Ice fishing Saginaw Bay on a 5 gallon bucket with his back to the wind, searching farmers fields for Indian artifacts or looking for morel mushrooms.
Fishing the Freeland Walleye Tournament and hosting One Shot Deer Club with family and friends were two of his favorite events he enthusiastically looked forward to every year for nearly fourty years. Albert had a special place in his heart for The Beatles and going to many concerts at the Soaring Eagle Casino where he had many friends. He loved helping people. Albert is survived by his mother Helen Rice, beloved wife Sandy Schanck; his children Benjamin Schanck and (Becky Ahn), Andrew Schanck and (Michelle), William Provo and (Natasha), Christina and (Roger Settle), Brandon Provo and (Jennifer) along with fourteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, his sister Linda (Robert Pingot) brother in law Mike Zapoluch, brother Donald Rice and (Michelle), sister JoAnn Rice Bigelow and (Paul Elder) numerous nieces and nephews and beloved Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
Albert was preceded in death by his Father Eugene, sister Barbara, brother David, brother in law Larry Bigelow and best friend Jim Krevinghaus. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 11:00 am at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Pinconning Chapel with Pastor Reed Schoerer presiding with burial at St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of service.
