We announce the death of Lyle Edward Johnson of Sheridan, Michigan, who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 91. Lyle will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rynal Johnson and Gusta Johnson (Haling); his siblings, Marion Alexander and Marvin Johnson; his siblings-in-law, Penny Thomsen, Marcia Thomsen and Arden Alexander; his parents-in-law, Willie and Imogene Thomsen; and his extended family, Herschel Haling, Bernice Jones and Rynal Haling.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his children, Kevin Johnson (Marilyn), Lauri King, Jeffrey Johnson (Tammy), Timothy Johnson (Jeannette) and Lisa Winnie (Steve); his grandchildren, Zachary King (Charles Simpson), Doc Johnson (Kylie), Morgan Johnson, Alexandra Johnson (Dante Petersen), Tyler Johnson (Delayne), Kyle Johnson, Bruce IV Reames (Mindi) and Hannah Hoisington (Connor); his stepgranddaughter Nicole Kelly; his great grandchildren, Cohen, Townes, Kylin, Ayla and Bruce V; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cruze and Ava; and his siblings-in-law, Elaine Johnson, Linda, Wayne Borton, Stan, Peg Thomsen and James Thomsen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Simpson Family Funeral Homes (246 S Main St, Sheridan, MI 48884). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
