He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Kowatch and Bernadine Kowatch (Theida); his wife Susan Blackwood Kowatch; and his siblings-in-law, William Schneider and Janet Kowatch.
He is survived by: his siblings, Kathleen Schneider, Robert Kowatch of Warren, Pamela Petrowske of Richmond and Gregory Kowatch (Maria) of St. Clair. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (415 N 6th St, St Clair, MI 48079).
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
