He was predeceased by: his father Ervin Trainor; and his siblings, Leland, Leon, Ruth Ockerman, Edith Pearcy, Thelma Hipp and Marion Bechtel.

He is survived by: his son Ben Trainor; his siblings, Robert, Paul, Kenneth Trainor (Margaret), Martha Barren (Anthony) and Doris Johnston (David); and his great-niece Charlotte. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
