He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard W. Kunckel and Carrol Ann Kunckel (Johnson); and his sisters, Julie Pondella and Darlene Kunckel. He is survived by: his wife Sharon M. Martin; his daughters, Jennifer Aponte (Robert) of Temperance and Kimberly Sayles (Gerome) of Jonesville; and his grandchildren, Josh Martin (Amber), Dylan Aponte (Makayla), Nick Martin-Grantham, Kyle Aponte, Katie Aponte, Ayden Sayles and Ava Sayles. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
