She was predeceased by : her parents, August Pintzke and Frieda Pintzke (Hopp); her former life partner Heinz Simon; her husband Charles Beccue; and her sisters, Elizabeth Okenmeyer and Ann Engler.

She is survived by : her children, Karl Simon (Marcia) of Dawsonville, Georgia and Kitty Beccue of South Haven, Michigan; her grandchildren, Gregory Simon, Karla Simon Martin, Julie Simon Brooks and Joseph Land; and her great grandchildren, Clayton, Kristen Simon, Ansley Maddox, Jacob Martin, Bailey and William Brooks.

John Marshall wrote a sympathy message

“Gerda was a great lady, we miss her laugh and ready smile. We enjoyed visiting her with my mother Annegret at her cottage by the lake. My mother will miss her the most, she enjoyed all there times together especially playing cards and remembering all the old stories of growing up. That area beside the lake was lovely, we will miss that and all the people and personalities that are now gone. We're very sorry for your loss, but have confidence that she has gone to her glory - the J Marshall family”
