He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara; his daughters, Tina Chaldekas and Melanie Strange; and his brothers, Don and Joe.
He is survived by: his sons, James Jr. (Kathy Hamilton), Greg Hamilton and Tim Hamilton (Molly O'Connor); and his son-in-law Mark Chaldekas. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and another great-grandchild.
