She was predeceased by : her parents, Edward Holappa and Emma Holappa (Johnson); her husband William Simila; and her siblings, Lyla, Esther, Wilfred and Paul.

She is survived by : her son Mike Simila (Mary); her grandchildren, Jason (Rachelle), Thomas (Marisa) and Michael; her son John Simila (Janet); her great grandchildren, Kelsey and Tyler; and her nieces, Kris Cuthberson and Kathy Pirkola.
