Asaad Istephan Akrawi Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Asaad Istephan Akrawi (Southfield, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 22, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Abdulraheem Istephan Akrawi and Yazi Yacoub Zayouna. He is survived by: his wife Khalida Slewa Shaba; his children, Susan Toma (Chris), Sarmad Istephan (Raquel) and Steven Istephan (Randa); and his grandchildren, Sophia, Paul, Seraphina, Thomas and Peter. He is also survived by seven siblings, extended family, friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Orthodox Faith Enrichment Program (OFEP) at Sts. Peter and Paul Syriac Orthodox Church to benefit the religious education for all the children in the Church.
