It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Aviva Thatch Sandler (Southfield, Michigan), who passed away on June 1, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her husband Robert; her children, Elizabeth, Eric and Jennifer Sandler-Bowen; her son-in-law Lance Bowen; her grandson Ian Sandler-Bowen (Uma); her siblings, Rhoda Kamin (Michael) and Dr. Leonard Thatch; her sister-in-law Susan Bass (Isidore); her nephews, David Bass (Megan), Michael Bass (Edit) and David Kamin (Jolene); her niece Carrie Swan (Christopher); her cousins, Gloria Zimet, Jefferey, Lisa Mark and Dr. Polina Davidson; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Naomi, Clara, Aron, Lainey, Henry, Laurel, Frances and Emma; her aunt Rose Mark; her sister-in-law Judith Sandler; Yaniv (Sivane), David (Antonio), Noam (Coleen) and Eli.

Her life, bookended between the most horrific of wartime experiences and an international pandemic and the heartless war between Ukraine and Russia, nevertheless was filled with love, beauty, gratitude, and adventure.
