It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Munaim Mousa Shaya (Southfield, Michigan), who passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mousa Shaya and Misko Elyas Karcho Shaya; and his siblings, Mowafaq Mousa Shaya and Riyadh Shaya. He is survived by: his children, Cybil Hakeem (Frank), Michael Shaya and Michelle Sutton (Tyler); and his siblings, Widad Ammouri, Zehour Asmar, Suham Yatooma, Tarik Shaya, Khalida Shaya, Khalid Shaya and Anwar Kattoula.
A requiem service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mother of God Chaldean Catholic Church (25585 Berg Rd, Southfield, MI 48033). A committal service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery (25800 W 10 Mile Rd, Southfield, MI 48033). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Memorial Luncheon Sahara Restaurant & Banquet Center (2390 Metro Pkwy, Sterling Heights, MI 48310). A vigil service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sahara Restaurant & Banquet Center (2390 Metro Pkwy, Sterling Heights, MI 48310).
