He was predeceased by: his parents, Mousa Shaya and Misko Elyas Karcho Shaya; and his siblings, Mowafaq Mousa Shaya and Riyadh Shaya. He is survived by: his children, Cybil Hakeem (Frank), Michael Shaya and Michelle Sutton (Tyler); and his siblings, Widad Ammouri, Zehour Asmar, Suham Yatooma, Tarik Shaya, Khalida Shaya, Khalid Shaya and Anwar Kattola.
