He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Rhodes and Emma Rhodes; his siblings, John D. Rhodes, Jr., Victoria McGraw, Ruth Delaney, Rose Dannelly, Beverly Hawkins and Miller F. Rhodes, MD; and his son-in-law Christopher Rone.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Rhodes Rone (Christopher), Robert (Erica), Nekole and Candice Smith; his grandchildren, Robert Rone (Chunghwa Suh), Andrew Rhodes, Sophia Rhodes and Amaya Smith; and his nieces and nephews, Jackye McGraw-Lawson, Kimberly Rhodes, Yvonne Wells, Michelle Brooks, Charlie "Chuck" Dannelly II, Anthony Rhodes, Miller Rhodes Jr. and Erskine Hawkins Jr.. He is also survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Meharry Medical College, Class of 1962.
