She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Karczewski and Wanda Karczewski (Casimir); her husband William Gutekunst; her daughter Charlotte Menser; and her siblings, Leo Karczewski, Evelyn Stec (Richard), Patricia Spanos (Peter) and Marianne Duke (Vernon).

She is survived by: her daughters, Claudia Foss and Dawn Avery; her siblings, Rosemary LaPierre, Michaeline Berkebile (Jay) and Casimir Rychlicki (Tina); and her grandchildren, Jeff, John (Jill), Brian (Jodi), Mike (Rachel), Matt, Tim, Jessica, Megan (Tom) and Jennifer (Mike).

Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Taylor Chapel of Voran Funeral Home (23750 Goddard Rd, Taylor, MI 48180). A Mass was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 9:30 AM and at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Magdalen Church (19624 Wood St, Melvindale, MI 48122).
