She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip Chanavier and Muriel Chanavier; her husband Albert Shomsky; and her sons, Mark (Nicole) and Ronald.
She is survived by: her children, James (Jackie), Lynne (Mark Caruso), David (Suzanne), Paula (late John Stanko) and Geri (Craig Drys). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Molnar Funeral Homes - Southgate (14032 Northline Rd, Southgate, MI 48195). The lying in state was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church (1540 Riverbank St, Lincoln Park, MI 48146). A Mass was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
