He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl DeVormer and Geraldine DeVormer (Kamp); his sister Marleen; and his in-laws, Clifford and Christina Wright.
He is survived by: his wife Esther DeVormer (Wright); his children, Troy DeVormer, Jennifer May (Tony) and Emily Homrich (Charles); his stepchildren, Nathan Sixbury (Kristen), Bambi McCracken (Brad) and Herb Sixbury (Kari); his grandchildren, Jeana Bitson (Peyton), Carter Eisenhardt (Hannah), Matt Sixbury (Conner), Emma Ruppert (Bryce), Molly McCracken (Chase), Ian Homrich, Sophie McCracken, Laney Homrich (Aiden), Cross Sixbury, Wilson Sixbury, Jordynn Sixbury and Ruby Sixbury; his great grandchildren, Colt Sixbury, Beau Bitson, Maci Sixbury, Haidynn Bitson and Benson Ruppert; and his siblings, Kay Glover, Earl DeVormer (Karen) and Kim McComb (Mary).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be given to the Newaygo County Compassion Home.
