We are sad to announce that, on July 17, 2025, at the age of 72, Sharon Marie Leavens of Sparta, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Menke and Catherine Menke (Mulholland); her brothers-in-law, Roy Taylor and Brian Hamstra; her sister Marcia Menke; and her nephew Noah Hamstra.

She is survived by: her husband Mark Leavens; her siblings, David, Dennis Menke (Mary Beth), Susan Taylor (Roy), Sarah Hamstra (Brian) and Sandra Menke; and her brother-in-law Chris Leavens (Lynne). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In celebration of Sharon's lifelong love of music and community, memorial contributions may be made to the Wheatland Music Organization Scholarships ([email protected]).

Yearly, she and Mark formed the nucleus of of an encampment of individuals and families all like minded lovers of traditional music. She was a gracious host. She was a mother to many in the most important ways, bore misfortune and indignity with strength and a quietly competent medical professional.”
