He was predeceased by: his parents, Wellington "Shorty" Welter and Violet Welter; his brother Tom Welter; his grandson Chad Mosher; his son-in-law Kim Powell; and his great grandchild Eric Kim Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Welter (Thompson); his children, Michael Welter (Tanna), Timothy Welter (Angel), Lisa Hayworth and Thomas Welter (Diana); and his stepchildren, Tina Deck (Mike Rentchler), Jana Powell and Robert Bartell (Julie). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Arbor Church, Benevolent Fund.
